Dream Zoo Safari, using Coin/Gold or Hearts

TLDR: Start paying with Coins, Repair with Hearts, Don't continue after 2 searches.

Dream Zoo Safari is the only way for you to get a partner for your animal. There are actually 3 ways to 'pay' for this service, but since I'm not buying anything from zynga for cash, I'm really restricted to 2 methods: Coins or Hearts.

Dream Zoo Safari works like paying currency for rolling a dice. Each roll you can either get Coins, Experience, Treasure, Animal, Flat Tire (Unless you use Cash to buy).

For Each Safari, you may get up to 4 (four) roll of the dice.
3rd Roll
And for each roll, you get 3 items.
Items

Coins / Gold.
Coins are self explanatory, the amount you get really depends on how much the initial Safari costs. The initial Safari cost increase with each type of Zone as you progress through the same and have access to. I'll Post the costs at the end of the post

Experience.
Experience are also self explanatory, the amount ranges from 1 to over 50. The experience point is somewhat random but the maximum experience will also be dependent on how much you pay for it. So don't expect to go to the Plains Safari and get 40 experience points.

Treasure.
Treasure you get depends on which Zone you go for Safari at. Treasures add up to complete your "Goals and Rewards" or what is normally known in every other game as Achievements. Each Zone has it's own collecting achievement, e.g. the Holiday Safari requires 10 Presents, which when completed, gives the user 30 experience points, 1000 coins and 5 Hearts, Jungle Safari has an achievement to collect 10 Pebble Tracks that rewards 5100 experience, 6700 coins and 5 Hearts. So, eventually, these are good if you want to level up fast. This is what I actually did to level up faster, I spent all my gold to just go on Dream Zoo Safari and complete achievements to gain experience.

Animals.
Animals are actually what your target goal for going on Dream Zoo Safari. More often than not, you'll eventually get the correct animal rank after no more than 5 Safaris. When I say more often than not, what I mean is that because there are 2 (two) ways to go on Dream Zoo Safari, they may give different rank of animals depending on which you start. I'll explain the difference later.

Flat Tire.
Sometimes, you get a flat tire (unless you pay in Cash and then you won't get any).
Flat Tire
In which case, you can either 'Walk Home' and get 1 random item from all the items you've already picked up, or you pay more currency to keep all your current items through 'Fix The Tire' button. You can then carry on (if you pay to keep your items), or go on a new Safari

So going back to the initial question, to use Coins or to use Hearts. The answers lies in the way you pay for repairing a Flat Tire. Having a flat in Plains will cost you 2100 coins or 4 Hearts to repair it. Weird how repairing a Flat Tire costs more than twice the Coins, but half the Hearts. And since the amount of Hearts you get depends on neighbors, I think the right answer is to Pay for the Initial Safari in Coins and then pay for the repairs in Hearts. However, paying for the Flat Tire should depend on on many previous throws of the dice you've done.

What I usually do is to note the amount of experience points, coins and whether I went on the Safari for Animals or Treasures. If I've obtained a significant amount of coins, or experience points, I usually pay for the Flat Tire. If I've got my target Animal or Treasure, I usually just take the items and stop.

Whether to continue on Dream Zoo Safari or to take the items and stop, I usually stop when there's only 2 more searches to go. Why? Because you're potentially paying full Dream Zoo Safari price for only 2 searches.

As for the 2 'types' of Safari, I guess I'll do that another day.

Plains: 600 Coins, 10 Hearts, 10 Cash
Holiday: 1000 Coins, 11 Hearts, 13 Cash
Rainforest: 1500 Coins, 12 Hearts, 15 Cash
Desert: 2500 Coins, 14 Hearts, 20 Cash
Marsh: 5000 Coins, 16 Hearts, 30 Cash
Forest: 7000 Coins, 18 Hearts, 40 Cash
Arctic: 7500 Coins, 20 Hearts, 45 Cash
Mountain: 8500 Coins, 20 Hearts, 50 Cash
Jungle: 11000 Coins, 24 Hearts, 55 Cash
Grassland: (not there yet)

  1. I am new at this game but how do you collect the prize that you get in the safari? -as in maybe a jaguar or a geco-

  2. Hello anna,

The prizes are automatically added to your bag. Coins/Hearts will automatically be shown as higher value. Animals will be added to your available animals, you can see this when you click on the 'Wild Animals' and look for the animal in that zone.
As for the treasures, you don't actually collect them either. The game will keep track of how many of each you get, and then give you some bonus Experience Points, Hearts, Coins or Bucks when you collect 10, 20 and 35 of each type.
I hope that answers your questions

    1. You can see the number of coins at the bottom of your screen. The hearts you can see when you go to the game 'Store' in the 'menu'. There is no actual 'bag', just the game that counts it for you and shows you the number.

  4. Hello. I noticed that sometimes, not all the time, it happens randomly, when I click on an animal to breed, I noticed at the bottom by the breed button an offer appears that says "50 hearts for 50 cash." How can we get this? And note: it always happens when I have less than 50 hearts, but then when I get 50 hearts and go back to the animal that showed the offer, its gone....AGAIN. Very disappointing.

  5. Lizzy, that isn't an offer per se, it's just telling you that you can go into the store and buy 50 hearts for 50 cash. That "offer" is always good in the store and when you fall short of the hearts required to breed, it basically advertises that you can buy (with real money) hearts rather than helping neighbors to earn hearts.
